Wonderful BBQ Buffet that isn't too far of the beaten path. You won't find a better choice within 20 minutes of anything Myrtle. They offer plates or full buffet access. Tea is not included in the meal. Ribs are included with the buffet. Only 2 types of pulled pork on the buffet: Vinegar and Sweet Sauce. Both are very good, but, obviously, most have a flavor preference. Mine is sweet. This is good sweet BBQ. They have other sauces to pick from (oddly located totally on the opposite end of bar), but no plain pulled pork to flavorize on your own. It doesn't really matter through, because the pulled pork is just right. Unless you want to do yourself a disservice, don't skimp on the BBQ or fried chicken either. Pretty much anything meat related in this place needs to go into your mouth before you leave. Ribs are included with your paid admission, but are not out. When you pay, ask and they will make them for you. Ours took about 20 minutes, so prepare for those on round 2. *NOTE: If you don't like Vinegar sauce, ask for them to not sauce them, because they coat them in it pretty good.* Sides are a little limited, but the Mac and Cheese is delicious and has a great thick cheesy topping. The potato salad, and baked beans are also notable. I'm not a fan of fried pig skins, but others at my table raved over them. Other reviews have said that this place is a local spot. They are not kidding. It isn't pretty or fancy, but when the 75 year old, pig earing wearing, original-35-years-in-the-same-location owner asks you what you thought of her BBQ, you will know you are in the right place.

Had the 1 meat and 3 side dish for $6.50- MORE than enough! BBQ was very good and so were the green beans and baked beans. Didn't have any hot sauces besides their own homemade ones though, so that was alittle disappointing, but their BBQ sauces are very yummy. Great place to eat, great prices, take the whole family! Just being your own hot sauce

I absolutely hate buffets typically and this place is awesome down home southern food! My boyfriend and I love this place! The Chicken bog, Fried Chicken, and Pulled Pork are amazing. Not to mention the sweet potato casserole, mac and cheese, and succotash! Always friendly staff! Def not for those who are watching their calories but seriously its too delicious to pass up!

Looking to find some good southern bbq/comfort food we stumbled upon this place and read some reviews. Seemed like the perfect place. We rolled in the empty parking lot around 4pm on July 3rd. We were concerned, but then realized how early we were. The place had plenty of seating and looks a little out of date, but that all adds to the experience. The hostess was nice and price was cheap for all you can eat buffet. $11 and change per person including drinks. The food looked like it'd been sitting out since lunch and the hostess swirled some of the items so they didn't look as bad. Fortunately things tasted better than they looked. I wasn't impressed and neither was my husband, especially having just had amazing bbq in Charleston a few days before. They had 2 types of pork, sweet and vinegar. Good shredded pork, it was different than what I've had. Fried Chicken was a little too oily tasting, probably just from sitting there. Potato salad was really good! Mac and cheese was also really good, just had a film of hardened cheese on top from sitting there. Corn bread was a let down. I think this place does have a lot of potential to be tasty when the food gets put out and circulated freshly. We saw a few locals come in before we left. I think it was just timing on our poor experience.

While flying home several weeks ago, I met a man on the plane. We talked about how I have never had Chicken Bog and I would love to try it. He suggested Big D's. I made my way over there recently and got an order to take home. The woman at the counter was helpful and polite. She served me from a buffet counter. She honestly couldn't do enough for me and I felt guilty that I was only buying Chicken Bog at this time. She rang up $8.63 for my order and I brought it home for my son and I to share which was plenty. We ate it all and were delighted with our lunch. When I left Big D's, I grabbed a take home menu and my son and I have decided that we will be going back to have some more Chicken Bog, but also to try some other barbecue dishes that I missed. Big D's is in an out of the way location, in fact, I almost passed it while looking for it. If every dish is as delicious as the Chicken Bog, then I'll be back for even more.

This place has some of the best southern/BBQ food in the Myrtle Beach area..we make sure we eat here every year..the decor is nothing fancy but you will leave full and satisfied..make sure you save room for the deserts but it's almost impossible since the food is so good..Chop BBQ in 2 flavors, Mac and Cheese, and Sweet Potato Casserole are my favorite..

Variety of shredded BBQ flavors & other buffet items. I read the reviews saying that radd Dews in Conway is much better, so I decided to check it out. Nope. Nowhere near as delicious or have as much variety as big ds. If you're like me and don't eat that much, I'd say try the buffet so that you know what your favorites are & then next time just get a plate with your top choices. I've always thought about doing that, but I still get the buffet anytime I stop in, hehe. This is the best BBQ and southern cooking in the myrtle beach area & the atmosphere fits the bill :)

Ok, first of all, a guy who writes a review to a place he's never eaten at is totally going against the spirit of Yelp. That review is completely worthless; thusly, the rating for this spot should be 4 stars! I agree w/ the "judge" that it's a bit pricey, but it's soooooooooooooo worth every last penny. This place *owns*. My grandmother and mother were born and raised in North Carolina, so I can at least claim some Southern blood...besides which, I know what the deal is with pork! They have a hog on a spit for something like 16 hours...then they pull off the magical bits and give you two bbq choices - North Carolina vinegar style or South Carolina mustard style. Both are insanely flavorful and tender. The vinegar bbq varies in heat (spiciness) each time you go, which is a good thing, b/c you know they are making it from scratch every day. The mustard is a bit sweeter, yet equally satisfying. But wait - don't forget the sides. Butter beans, mac & cheese, cornbread...whichever you go for, you win b/c it's all really well done. Lunch buffet is a good deal, and you can take the bbq home either to eat right away on your patio, or freeze it. Fried chicken is tasty, as well, for those who don't eat swine (poor souls). The hours are odd - sometimes open for lunch, other times not. I'd advise calling to make sure they're open, but trust me - this is THE local spot in Myrtle Beach. In fact, I considered not even writing this, for fear of letting all the Yanks in on the secret. Maybe the fact there is no alcohol served will keep all the corporate golfers on Restaurant Row.

When it comes to BBQ I am a harsh judge. As a certified BBQ judge for the state of SC, I hold BBQ restaurants to a high standard. So Big D's is a good little bbq place to go once in a while but I wouldn't make it a habit. They have a good buffet that is sure to have something that everyone can enjoy. I recommend to check out the Brunswick Stew and the mac-n-cheese is home made and is quite tasty. On the BBQ front they serve a chopped pork bbq. It is basted in a honey vinegar that gives it a sweet but tangy composition. A good make that is sure to top off a working man's lunch. Two downsides though. The first being the price. For the buffet and a sweet tea your are looking at about $12.50. That is a lot for lunch! The second is a personal preference but smoking is permitted throughout the restaurant. I can't stand taking a bite of food and inhaling a cigarette.

This is a resturant that is buffet style. 1 meat plus 2 to 3 sides, or pulled pork sandwich. I had the pulled park with baked beans, rice, and sweet potatoes. Outstanding. The best sweet potatoes I have ever had. Not much on decor but plenty of room.

The restaurant closes at 9 PM. My friends and I got there on a Friday night at 8:30. The buffet looked really sad. The lights were off on half the buffet, so the sides were darkly lit and slightly congealed. There was not even much BBQ on the buffet itself, and what was there looked crusty. We were afraid to eat there. While I hate writing a review for a place whose food I haven't tried, I wouldn't have eaten at that buffet unless I wanted to risk getting food poisoning. Maybe you will have better luck if you go earlier. Definite pass.
